The Victorian Water Barrel
This morning's outing took us to a car boot sale which we hadn't been to for months because of the weather. It was a blipper's paradise with so many fascinating objects to photograph and a great place to people watch. Some more images can be found here.
The Victorians knew how to combine practicality with craftsmanship and elegance. The water barrel was used to help was the kitchen gardens watered and now it looks so lovely I could easily have it in the house as an object in its own right.
I have to admit I was partly drawn to it by the peeling paint and rust... some things never change.
