The Art City.....

Christchurch is known as the 'Garden City', but since the earthquakes alot of that greenery has gone, especially in the central city....it will come back as the rebuild continues, and the city plans for the central area does include some great ideas. But at the moment there is alot of areas of rubble and construction, not so green!

But ....I have noticed more and more that you can't go past a corner or street these days without seeing some sort of 'Art" installation or sculpture which is great. Sometimes you have to look for them, or like the Giraffes at the moment they are fairly obvious.
I saw this big green screen and wondered what it was today...it is a sculpture by a woman whose name I should have written down! I just love the simplicity of it, and how the green of the trees and grass around it are almost the same shade.

I haven't used any filters or anything with this...natures green .

There is a big effort going on to make us Christchurch residents feel ok, and all of these pieces around town certainly do help.
