Lest we forget

Very proud of the eleven year olds who led a very moving and respectful Remembrance Service this afternoon. Their poetry, influenced by their study of the great war poets, was thoughtful and so full of empathy.

Maybe there is hope for the future of our world after all as these would be very safe hands to put it in indeed!

Never such innocence,
Never before or since,
As changed itself to past
Without a word – the men
Leaving the gardens tidy,
The thousands of marriages,
Lasting a little while longer:
Never such innocence again.
Philip Larkin
