All sewn up

Spent my evening sewing hooks and eyes onto false fronts on waistcoats and elastic onto fake moustaches. As you do.

All of which necessitated a trip to the fabric shop earlier. I managed to escape spending less than a fiver which is good for me. Going just before closing is obviously the way forward.

The light in our house is so bad though that I couldn't see the needle threader I'd bought to help any more than I could see the hole in the needle I was trying to thread! Beige thread probably didn't help.

Still we have success. Tomorrow my job is to fix the issue with the sewing machine so I can edge a "silk" neckchief. It might get through the week without it but I'd rather fix it. The machine is not much younger than me and the manual was lost long ago but I'm sure I'll work it out. I think it's just the tension of the bottom thread. Or at least I hope it is.
