Inside All Souls Catherdral

This is the Episcopal church built by George Vanderbilt, and it was completed in 1896. The Vanderbilt's' only daughter was married here. Some believed he built the church for her wedding (and she was married there), but he built it for the community, as a testimony to personal faith, his mother's faith, and concern for area residents. The brick arches are an amazing architectural feature of the church. The chandelier is about 6' tall which gives you an idea of the expanse of this space. The church is in the shape of a Greek crucifix, and seats 220 people. The church is about a mile from the Biltmore House and is on part of the original estate.
