London Tapestry
Today I drove a friend of mine to London to go visit his Aunt for a few days. When we arrived she had a delicious meal prepared for us. I had not been to her house for awhile and while seated at her table, I was able to look at this beautiful piece of art in front of me. She said she had done it herself not long ago. It's a collage of felt, paint, ribbon, tapestry and other stitching. The view of course is London, displaying St Paul's cathedral, The Thames, Tower Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the 'Gherkin' and of course the iconic Phone booths, double-decker busses and the black London Cabs.
I wish I could have seen it in daylight to have got a better picture, without the reflection of the lights, but I just couldn't resist sharing this stunning collage for my picture today.
