Ellen's Birthday
Ellen Littlewood is another of my Story characters. Born at Bromley, Kent, with Yorkshire ancestry on Wednesday 7th November 1984 (9lb 9oz), Ellen is the lynchpin of the six friends. Ellen is a teacher of Maths with a BA (Hons) in Maths and Teaching and a PGCE. Ellen is also Head of Year 8. As Rachel and Amy are Year 8 Form Tutors, they know Ellen very well. The teacher Kate who goes missing is another Year 8 Tutor....
To sum up her character, I’ll quote my notes that I have created about her -
If anyone could light up a room, Ellen will do it! She has a real zest for life and is a happy go lucky person. Ellen is keen to do well and her motto in life is Live for today. Ellen is very bright, bubbly and friendly. She is very positive and this influence rubs off onto those around her. Intelligent and always hardworking, Ellen is also very down to earth and enjoys simple pleasures. Ellen is very close to her family and her friends who all mean the world to her. You can look at her and she will make you smile – her personality is very warm.
With her long blonde hair and blue eyes and at 5 feet 4 inches, Ellen’s considered to be the most attractive of the six, but she has not been lucky in love as when she discovered her last boyfriend was also seeing someone else, she threw him out immediately and has been single ever since.
Ellen has an older brother born in 1982 and a younger sister born in 1986 and is very close to her family. Ellen loves her clothes which she chooses carefully. Although one would class her as “girlie girl”, she is never one for high heels – she loves her Ballet Flats too much!
The picture represents various things appropriate to Ellen and beginning with the cushion. The cushion represents Ellen’s little two bedroom mid terrace house that is very comfortable and welcoming. Her door is always open to her friends and family. It’s her own little piece of heaven! The Maths book represents her role as a Maths teacher and she is very passionate about that subject. The book on Bromley’s history represents the town of her birth and the book on Suffolk Beaches represents her love of the seaside and that her family own a beach hut at Southwold in Suffolk. The records represent her love of Pop Music including R&B. However, these three were all in the charts the day that she was born 30 years ago in 1984 and come out of my collection. They were each from left to right “No More Lonely Nights” by Paul McCartney at Number 4, “Gotta Get You Home Tonight” by Eugene Wilde at Number 22 and “Too Late For Goodbyes” by Julian Lennon at Number 6. Lastly there is a piece of Crested China that has the Arms of Bromley again representing the town where she was born.
Of all the characters in my Story, Ellen Littlewood is the one whose inspiration is the closest to any real living person and with the approval and help of that person to whom I'm really gratefu!
