A Rose for Remembering
Miss me But let me go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little–but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me–but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me–But Let me Go!
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following paths God made for me.
I took his hand, I heard him call..
Then turned, and bid farewell to all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace at close of day
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burned deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine tomorrow
My life's been full I've savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wants me now.... He set me free

The church was filled to capacity and standing room only at the back by the time the service started.
A beautiful but sad day at the funeral of D, a friend who passed away a couple of weeks ago after bravely bearing (for longer than we knew) Melanoma (skin cancer) and secondary's.
My friend read the poem above and I thought it was appropriate for today's blip.
All puts life in perspective.....
(I shed a few tears first thing. When I got up and opened the curtains, there was a rainbow :)
I thought then, that D was with all of us today!
I remember the time this summer (whilst very ill) that she flew on the wings of an old aeroplane to raise money for treatment of the disease that she eventually lost her life to). Very adventurous and brave to the last!
