Fancy dress

I have been working on our village history project today! I was trying to put together all the information on the village school, so as to make a readable chapter! There are one or two photos of children at the school, but this one of a Fancy Dress competition really took my fancy!
It is blurred, I know, but the trouble those mothers went to to make these wonderful costumes is to be admired.
Somehow village life must have been more lively then, without too many cars, televisions, computers, iPads to keep families busy rather than coming out to enjoy the community events!
