Realmonte Salt Sculptures

We were lucky enough to visit the Realmonte salt mine today where we saw fantastic salt structures and stratigraphy. There was a small chapel within the mine, almost a kilometre deep, with carved Christian symbols, like the one displayed in the photo. After the mine we headed to look at some more salt rocks on the southern coast before heading to Agrigento for the night.
