Collie Dog Jack & a 'broken' collar

This photo of me mooching around in St Ives harbour this afternoon has absolutely nothing to do with what happened this morning……………..

What happened this morning was……………… I met 'Collie Dog Jack'.

‘Collie Dog Jack’ is one of my enemies. He doesn’t like me. And I don’t like him! If we meet each other and we’re on our leads we go crazy. In fact, if Collie Dog Jack’s owner sees me before Collie Dog Jack does, he hides so that Collie Dog Jack can’t see me. If we’re off our leads on the beach we just ignore each other.

Anyway, this morning I was just trotting down the hill on the way to the beach when Collie Dog Jack came out of a side road and started walking down the hill in front of me. At first I wasn’t too bothered because Collie Dog Jack hadn’t spotted me………….. But then he turned round………………. And gave me the ‘evils’!!!

Well, I’m a little collie who can stand up for herself so I went absolutely mad. I pulled on my lead and did my most ferocious barking. And then do you know what happened………….. The clasp on my collar broke so Ann was left holding a collar & lead and I went charging down the hill after Collie Dog Jack. Ann wanted to BLIP the situation but her first priority was to get me away from Collie Dog Jack.

Ann was almost certain that there was going to be a big fight because once when I was on my lead and Collie Dog Jack wasn’t, he jumped on me and attacked me, so Ann thought I was going to do the same to him.

……………..But do you know what???? When I got a few feet away from him, I just stopped, looked at him, and then trotted back to Ann. She was sooo, sooo proud of me. And I’m sure Collie Dog Jack’s owner was relieved! She gave me loads of cuddles and told me I was the best little collie ever. And instead of holding me by the ‘scuff of my neck’ and dragging me home for a new collar, I was trusted to walk ‘to heel’ to the beach so that I could still have a play. And I walked sensibly all the way home too.

Collie Dog Jack was on the beach off his lead but we just ignored each other.

…………..And I didn’t get blipped on my morning walk because it was absolutely chucking it down with rain. And that’s why I’ve been blipped mooching around in the harbour on my afternoon walk.
