Baby Elephant

I have spent the day at Whipsnade Zoo with daughter and granddaughter. Whipsnade is always chilly, being on top of a hill, and it is November but we had a lovely day. I have signed up for the year so will go fairly often being only a 30 minute drive away. I will definitely take the big lens next time though as the animals have plenty of space and can be quite a distance away. I had a 300mm with me today but even that wasn't good enough.

I love these animals - elephants have been my favourites for as long as I can remember. I am very thankful for such graceful and loyal animals. Today we went specifically to see the baby elephant born a few weeks ago and staying safe underneath his mother. A few minutes later and we would have missed him as the elephants then went into the paddock behind the elephant house. I hope for a better image another time.
