Remember, remember the 5th of November
We've done this every year at this house since my brother and I were tiny. As small people it was mainly always for Guy Fawkes but as parents ourselves, we've done this as a birthday celebration for our dad whose birthday was on that day.
This is the first birthday since he passed away and also most likely the last firework celebration at that house as it now has to be sold, making last night a very bittersweet occasion for us all.
However, there were a few light hearted moments:
- a firework flew off in an unexpected direction and blew 2 holes in the planter we were using; and
- the oriental lanterns we finished off with changed direction and ended up suspended and still burning on the neighbouring high voltage electricity wires!
