The Turkish Cemetery, Kos

The town of Platani was renamed after a large plane tree in the town square after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. Before that it was called Kermetes because it was settled by convicts deported from Keramos in Asia minor. It still has an active minority of Turkish speaking Greeks of which this cemetery is part of. There are some good Turkish restaurants in the town square.
