Look before you leap!!

Played golf today, Roy's ball landed in what used to be a stream which runs through the golf course. The stream has been emptied because work is being undertaken. I went to retrieve his ball, thinking that the mud had dried hard, wrong, it was very wet, as my shores bare testament to. I sunk upto my ankles in this horrible stuff, trying to extracate myself without making the situation worse was like a scene from a comedy film. Fortunately it was the last hole, so we finished playing, jumped in the car and drove home so that I could get changed.

The trousers and socks went into soak and the shoes stayed outside to dry in the sun. Shoes have now been cleaned and the trousers are drying on the line. Lesson learnt.
