Straight From The Photosphere.
The Sun fuses 620 million metric tons of hydrogen each second in it's core, photons emitted by these fusion reactions then take on average 100 000 years to travel to the solar surface, where it spends 8 and 1/2 minutes to reach Earth and create the sunrise as seen from my work.
