Doozers

Scaffolding has started to go up on the front of the Savoy Hotel on the Strand. They've been renovating the hotel for over a year now.

I met Sheila, Nicky and Melissa after work at a wine bar near Charing Cross. It was lovely to catch up and we were nattering away over red wine when, from the corner of my eye, I saw a man falling from standing to the ground without him moving a muscle, with his head landing about an inch from my foot. It was as if someone had flipped a switch to "off". To make matters worse, the poor man fell face down on shards of his glass, which he'd been holding in his hand and had smashed when it hit the floor. Luckily a first-aider was nearby and was very calm. He was moving a little shortly after and was talking. The ambulance seemed to take an age, but got there in the end. I hope his cuts were nothing too serious and that he's well on the road to recovery by now. We were all a little shocked.

We recovered over delicious pizza at Fire and Stone. We really must catch up more often.
