Day 2 - Jeep ride to Manali

Setting off at darkness to miss the convoy of army trucks, the sun made a spectacle out of the Himalayas. It was the calm, before the storm. Our last few hours on the road were ludicrous. It was an national holiday, and as we were trying to head down and out of the mountains, its seemed like the whole of india wanted to head up into them. All in their white rented cars. Problem was, they can't drive and they're impatient, so on a one lane road, there's lots of stalemate! Couple this, with them getting out of their cars to take selfies and search for snow, we hadn't moved much after three hours! The Buddhist from Maui tried to help out... but shouting verbal abuse from the front seat didn't seem to help!
