It Ain't The Meat

Wandered up to another croft this morning to make sure the heifers have sufficient water. I have to say that I do feel privileged doing basic tasks with the animals, especially as the majority my working life was behind a desk. It's a great feeling when they respond to your voice and come running over to see if you've got anything interesting or are about to move them elsewhere. With the young Galloways I do like the fact they have Teddy bear ears. I know some people think I'm odd because I chat to them in a normal voice and not the voice people use when talking to babies or puppies but I tend to believe it helps them to recognise you and not to see you as a threat.
