The accidental finding

Park Childrens Centre, Stonehouse

...likely to be made from the local, very hard Stonehouse brick! Our house is made from this and it's almost impossible to hang pictures on external walls without breaking nails!

I worked here at the childrens' centre in 2010, helping to run pop up creches. Today, though, I was just passing, after my WEA class at the community centre. What a very silly time to linger, as it turned out! I ended up missing the bus at 16 24, and having to catch one half an hour later, which went via some villages, and didn't get to Stroud until rather later than planned! Consequently I didn't have time to eat and get ready for climbing in Gloucester. I wasn't the only person confused by the bus timetable changes. The phrase 'it's a shambles' was frequently uttered by other service users who, like me, couldn't see the need for changing the bus times, let alone running 4 differently-numbered services between Stroud and Stonehouse.

A shambles is, of course, a marketplace, so I am not quite sure why we use the word to mean a chaotic muddle!

As it turned out, the headache I've had all day forced me to lie down and before I knew it, I'd fallen asleep! Still don't feel very lively, so I think tonight will be an early one.
