On the crest of a wave

I went down to Porthcawl this afternoon, and decided to walk down to the beach. I walked almost to the waters edge and got so engrossed , i didn't notice how close the water was. The water came over my shoes, and i just about managed to make a quick exit out of the encroaching tide.
