The definition of 'peedie'
Last year I bought some trees from Woodland Trust. Some didn't survive the journey. Some I planted outdoors without any consideration of weather and wildlife. Those that didn't get eaten by rabbits have taken a lethal pounding by the elements. There is one surrounded by fish-crates and netting that is putting up a valiant effort, but this winter will be the acid test for any organism.
The remainder I've potted up and put on windowsills around the place. They're not the healthiest arboreal specimens you're ever likely to see, but they are recovering.
Some of the pots are home to the lushest mosses.
And then there's this wee (peedie) fella. My Collins guide to British wildlife only suggests that it might be a tiny Chanterelle. I will accept advice to the contrary.
I'll put the world's smallest omelette on standby for the time being.
