Clematis - Belle of Woking.
I was told this was the name of the clematis. Rather a grand title, and it was a bit bigger than a saucer.
I had gone over to see L this afternoon, she is the lady with the wonderful garden. I have blipped flowers from her garden before. Finally after 40 years of living in the Sounds, she is going back to Wellington to be near family due to ill health.
A couple of hours before that, PJ had to pick some people up, and just before it was time to launch the boat, the sky darkened and the rain started, then the thunder and lightening (PJ hates thunder and lightening!!) By the time we got to the beach there was hail as well. Somehow it managed to go down the backs of my gumboots, and my jeans were soaked by the time I returned to the house. When we put the boat back on the trailer, the rain had just about passed, but I ended up having to wade out a distance to get the boat attached to the trailer and the water went over the top of my gumboots...... so it was another soaking.
Strange thing was, that at the Portage wharf, where PJ was picking the people up from, it was bone dry!
Oh, well, it was a good thing that I lit the fire earlier in the afternoon, so the house was nice and warm.
Off to town tomorrow, meeting, COF for the van, groceries, pick up Craig and back home.
