The Mountains of Peru

Because Peru is very mountainous there is not a lot of
agricultural land available. Rural crops are grown in
some valleys but much of the crops are grown in
terraces going up the mountains. Only wealthy farmers
own tractors. I saw only three tractors during my
entire visit. Most cultivation is done by oxen with
man in front to drive the oxon and a man in back
to push down the plow.
