Javelinas

These wild animals frequent the Big Wash beside our house. Today they were just outside our patio fence and showed interest in our roses. Thank goodness for the fence.

Later, for this shot, they strolled down into the wash to eat some cholla buds. At times we see as many as six javelinas in a small herd. They have a good sense of smell, are diggers and will eat most anything. My policy is to stay away from them because they will charge if threatened.
