Happy returns

Two days away from Bonfire Night, and eight days before Remembrance Day, which this year marks the centenary of the war that was supposed to end all wars. If only.

Today is my husband's birthday, and although he's not that keen to celebrate, we are heading out for dinner with our daughter at a local gourmet pub.

There was a torrential downpour this morning, that left birthday boy and the dog looking like drowned rats after their walk on the nature reserve. This afternoon, though, the skies cleared and ushered in a beautiful sunset, which I couldn't resist feasting my eyes on from the bathroom window. Blip sorted. No rain, no work, November. Well, one out of three, anyway.
