Titan of Clydebank (2)
Today I took my wife and mother-in-law to visit the Titan crane in Clydebank. My wife's family were all involved in shipbuilding in various ways,so a visit to the TOP of the crane was a must.
A lift took us to the top of the 150 high structure. The views were STUNNING.
The building of the crane was completed 100 years ago this week.In its working days the lifting capacity was 200 TONS! The cogs and hawsers are there to be seen.
various films of ship launches were showing,The QE2,The Queen Mary etc.
We were free to walk to the end of the jib and telescopes were available.
A truly memorable experience.
I took about 60 photographs and found it difficult to do The TITAN justice.
