Canoe Slalom
Els and I spent the day at Lee Valley, and dragged G along to take some pics for us. We were invited along by the paddle club to see the British Slalom competition. They gave us an amazing introduction to the sport and the event, followed by kitting us out for our own slalom course. It was all for the latest instalment of our Olympic Challange. It takes a while to build up to the white water, so we made our course on the flat water of the legacy loop, but will be going back in a few weeks to experience the white water!
The whole course is incredible; it's so accessible, and free to everyone. Where else could you just wander up to an Olympic venue and see pros demonstrating their sport?! We had such a great day; even the rain couldn't spoil it!
After an action-packed day, G and I drove back to Mum's for a lovely casserole she'd prepared for tea. She had the heating on; I could have happily curled up on the couch for a sleep.
