German law says you have to winter tyres between October and Easter (well, actually, the rule of thumb is that if you have an accident during this period and don't have winter tyres on then you'll be hard pushed to prove it wasn't your fault) so I finally rang the garage who store and change my wheels, only to be told by the woman on the phone that the tread on my winter wheels was insufficient...I argued the toss, stood my ground (I might have a heavy foot but I don't do heavy mileage/kilometerage) and demanded a recount. I guess I'll hear more about it when I go on Wednesday to get my car uglied for winter.
