Rotunda

Another of the spokes in my Wheel of Everyday Life; I'm passing it today on one of my regular trips up to Derby.

It was part of the design for the original Bullring Shopping Centre and was completed in 1965. In 1974 a pub on the ground floor of the building was one of the sites of the Birmingham pub bombings. Today it's a Grade 2 listed building of luxury apartments, including six penthouse suites on the 20th floor. Birmingham's come a long way over recent years.
