One of my favourite exhibits at the Melbourne Museum was the walls and ceiling of butterflies and insects spreading like a concentrated rainbow of colour. I don't know if it is still there, but it was spectacular and impressed me with the diversity and richness of life.
Walking to the shops today, 'ordinary' brown butterflies and moths burst out of the shrubs and grass as we passed. My camera isn't made for capturing them in flight, but I caught this one observing me cautiously. It was probably thinking how ignorant I am for thinking it was 'ordinary'.
