While sitting at the table and looking out the window at the plants that line our porch railing, I noticed smoke rising from one of the flower pots. Hmmm... Upon inspection, I discovered that the sun was shining so intensely through this piece of glass (we had found it by the garbage) that it was burning a hole in the side of the pot.

The old magnifying glass story holds true!
