Liverpool at Halloween
Just back from a great weekend in Liverpool. Visiting some friends studying for a few months down there and the sister-in-law forging a career down there, and we certainly packed in the tourist experiences!
Late arrival on Friday before up early on the Saturday to tackle some massive pancakes on the way to a three hour wander around the Beatles Museum. All of us came away massive beatles fans, and able to exchange facts and stats for the rest of the weekend.
Then to the Cathedral (the largest in Britain) for a view from the roof of the sun setting over the Mersey.
Early evening was time to join hundreds of people in the park for a lantern parade - what seemed like the whole of Liverpool's school aged children had made little lanterns and were parading through the park, led by some slightly more professional lantern jobs such as this big owl who came right over for a closer look.
Dinner out on Saturday and then a lazier day on Sunday, a friendly church service and a hearty roast lunch before the 4.5 hour drive north again...
Til next time Liverpool.
