Not sure if this stretch of the A30 is part of the old Roman road from Silchester to Old Sarum but it has the directness of a military mind at work! A rare pleasure these days for an uncrowded road with minimal roundabouts or dimwits (the A303 covers these needs!). Nice family lunch in Stockbridge.
