Equus Altus

This sculpture Equus Altus by the internationally renowned Andy Scott. is in the new Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre. It’s suspended high above the shoppers and quite an impressive sight.

Equus Altus” is a 5 metre high two-tonne pack horse, mounted atop a ten metre high 300mm square steel column.

It observes the hubbub of modern commerce from its lofty position, loaded with a pack of wool commemorating the industry upon which the city of Leeds was founded.

It represents the time when Leeds was a top fabric producing city and wool was brought by pack horses.
