Ruined


Such secrets these stones could surrender
Of Heathcliffs and Cathys
Long grasses, soaked dresses, rushed kisses,
Crushed ferns, hushed whispers, half promises.

These stones
That once gave shelter
At the delicious curve
Of a dangerous path

That hold their silence
Against the ravaging winds
And wink
At the pitiless skies.
