Statue after overnight rain

No, not perspiration! The statue is of Dorothy Round, who was Wimbledon champion back in the 1935. She came from Dudley, so, during the recent renovation of Priory Park this statue was put up. Her daughter came for the official unveiling of the statue.

The tennis courts on the park are dedicated to Dorothy Round, and Ann Jones came to the opening (as did Sir Bobby Charlton for the formal opening of the new Multi-Use Games Area, dedicated to Duncan Edwards, a local lad, which happened on the same day a few years ago). [Ann Jones was herself Wimbledon Champion in 1969, and also relatively local (Birmingham).]
