Remembering the fallen
I'm not one for war memorials, and I don't really understand why this country sees itself as one of the world's policeman. These little crosses and photographs represent some of the forces personnel who have lost their lives in Afghanistan. I only photographed a section, so it's quite a lot of people. I think the Afghanistan campaign might succeed, but to a limited degree. Do or die Islamic fundamentalism is more than alive elsewhere. Still these rows of crosses with their names, photos and ages, bring it up close and personal, for all us civvie loafers. And there's nothing wrong with poppies; blood red from the fields of Flanders. Politically incorrect? Get a life!
