Two Faced Pumpkin

Yes, I realise that it's now two days after Halloween, but I've only just seen this today.

These grand specimens were on display at our local farm shop, along with another half a dozen of the best entries for the "Halloween Pumpkin Carving Competition". The winner -the producer of this two-faced chap - won £200 of vouchers to be spent at the shop. As they have a butchery section and also a fishmonger's as well as bakery, delicatessen, fruit and veg etc., this was a fantastic prize. I may get carving ready for next year. Except I'm not too good with sharp instruments or tools, and they are generally kept well away from me. C even cuts my dinners up for me. ;-)

I noticed that the entry tickets had a section for "age", and I think that the carver of this lovely specimen was 32. Maybe the organisers should have said more diplomatically "Age if under 18 years" or something similar. One person had written "OAP" - obviously going for the sympathy vote!

Several bouts of torrential rain today, although it's still not cold, but not as warm and muggy as it was yesterday.
