Job Search

I went out walking early this morning in search of a blip because I knew there would be no opportunity for photos later. Today is the last day of the show, and after the closing at 5PM we will be dismantling the booth at a breakneck pace. Part of the reason for my early hour was to drive the van down to the convention center and park in a reasonably close, non-pay spot. One of the Six Flags Theme Parks is located on the street we've been walking back and forth to the convention center on, and this sign was posted near the park entrance. Six Flags is well known for an annual evening attraction featuring ghosts, ghouls and goblins held in the weeks leading up to Halloween. Apparently they are in need of character actors to help with the scaring. We used to live very near one of the theme parks in Illinois, and it was a really popular event.
At the close of the show, we really got to work! On almost the last trip, I spotted a crumpled wad of paper on the loading dock which turned out to be $60. Mary was right in front of me but hadn't noticed it on the ground, so I decided it would be her bonus. There was no way I could have found the rightful owner and returned it, so I thought it should go to the next most deserving person. She was thrilled, and immediately offered to buy dinner for the two of us. I threatened her that this would be her first and last quilt show if she even mentioned the idea again.
So, of course we had to go to Pizza My Heart for our last meal in Santa Clara. Then we turned in rather early so we could get a good start on our drive in the morning.
