Poppies

T-shirt and flip flops weather in town today but the poppies in the library were a sobering reminder that it's November.

A reasonably productive start to the day but then got distracted by some stunning rugby. BaaBaas v Australia was breathtaking. Strictly, USA v All Blacks and the MOTD have continued the distraction entertainment. It's hard work being a sports fan. I've needed a lot of hot baths/stretches/exercises in between as Arthur is a likely stroppy right now.

The BaaBaas v Oz game may have been the best game but the USA v NZL game will undoubtedly prove more significant in rugby history. Yes, so they lost. Fairly badly. BUT a huge sellout crowd for a game of rugby in the US is something I don't think we'd have even dared to dream off 25 years ago. Fantastic.

That and the news that the England Women's Friendly at Wembley has sold more tickets than the men v Norway has really made my day despite the ongoing nausea. Only 4 more days :-)
