Happy 5th Birthday Will!
One slightly excited boy this morning, but he still wanted a morning 'nuggle, before we got up. Once downstairs he opened his presents with Carys's help and then tucked into sausage sandwiches, as requested, for breakfast.
We had to take Daddy to Letchworth, so while he was doing that we went to Costa for a chocolate babycino and marshmallow and a cheery "Happy Birthday" from the Barista. Will wanted to know how she knew it was his birthday? Nothing to do with the Birthday Boy rosette he was wearing!
Dropped Daddy back home and Carys, Will and I went bowling. We had two games and they had food. Both got either strikes or spares, Will's celebrations were reminiscent of Alan Shearer scoring a goal (I knew deep down he has black and white stripes).
It was such a nice day that when we got home we decided to scoot/walk into town for a quick drink and home. N&P came round to give Will his present and then we all headed into town for birthday tea.
Tea was lovely, both kids behaved well. Cake was well received. Will was told to make a wish before blowing out his candles. He squeezed his eyes closed, clenched his fists and in a stage whisper said " I wish that Father Christmas comes!" Ah, bless.
I can't quite believe that my boychild is five years old. He did have the easiest first three years and still at times drives us mad. But he is growing to be a loving, kind and sweet individual. He has a wicked sense of humour and adores his big sister (when he isn't driving her mad). He has adapted to school far, far better than I thought he would and has made us both very proud this year.
