Shed time
Today was shed day with son in law Matt. We finally finished & put up the shed, soon to be populated with all things Matt. The word shed is thought to derive from "shade". Others might prefer to call it their "man cave", hut or den. According the sheddie Ben Fogle,
Having a shed has long been about much more than having somewhere to store the lawnmower and smoke a pipe. They are an escape from the pressures of daily life. Last year a report concluded that having a shed could help men live longer by reducing their blood pressure and stress.
According to the Guardian,
A shed at the bottom of the garden is a fine thing to have, especially if you're a man. A place to mend and make, invent and create, to follow your interests in splendid autonomy, at your own level of untidiness, with whatever tools and materials you have to hand.
