Long Twilight
Signs of spring continue! It happens so fast!
I love this time of year. It's amazing what a little bit of warmth and sun can do to bring on a happy mood.
I had to run a couple of errands and when madly rushing through the mall, I was stopped dead by the beauty of the last gleam of sunset and the vibrant blue of twilight through the window.
In the distance is a Toronto landmark, the Canada Life building. The weather tower on top has light patterns coded for the coming weather. I work in the building beside it. I have a card somewhere that explains the signals, but I can never remember what they mean.
More wonderful signs of spring today:
- I found bulbs just beginning to peep out under the shadow of a thick yew bush
- The maple trees flowers are starting to bulge out - no more nice tree silhouettes
- All of the pigeons are paired off already
- Squirrels are building their nests for their babies - I watched a squirrel madly biting off twigs and building a huge nest in about 2 hours yesterday
- Birds are beginning to migrate back in their rush to get here first so they can get the best territories
I'm already looking forward to the weekend and being outside. What a great time of year.
PS I changed the picture. Former picture was of the long shadows cast by the setting sun. But this one gave me more of a thrill when I saw it in real life.
