The Wilsons

Payment!

It's been a busy, and somewhat chaotic few weeks in the Wilson house.

JimJams chimerisms took a nose dive so off to Bristol to talk about options (or lack of). Tests redone then a call a week later from our consultant, baffled but delighted, to say they had started to climb again. So a week spent crying with worry then the next week spent crying with happiness. Not sure if he realised we were literally jumping around when we were talking to him!!

Last week was spent getting ready for a Pudding Night Jo and I were hosting to raise sponsorship for her trek to Mount Everest Base Camp on 8th November. Lots of puddings where made and donated, along with some lovely raffle prizes. Over £750 was raised! Mum and Dad came up from Cornwall armed with puddings and lots of practical support. They are great at doing stuff like this, when it's s 360 mile round trip.

This week saw me finish a beginner's running course with Running Somewhere Else club, which has been great. Next week we get to play with the big girls and boys. (And got to know some lovely people)

The icing on the cake has been the last couple of days. The James Hopkins Trust, who support us with respite) asked us to represent them as one if their families for a short piece on BBC Children in Need. It's been educational. Lucky us got an overnight respite stay as this is what they donate to JHT for. Three ladies, researcher/reporter, cameralady and director turned up on our doorstep yesterday to start it all off yesterday. It's hard being 'normal' when you have a camera around. All 3 ladies made us feel relaxed and were lovely. The director and I got talking about biscuits (this is s normal conversation to have right?) and then today turned up with this jar. If you love the biscuits you'll love this! How sweet of them.

All I can say, is how proud I am of my family. JJ played and charmed them all, Caitlin had to speak and answer questions and did so with confidence and truth. (I spent this time in the kitchen so she wouldn't be distracted with us there. I kept an ear open and spent some of the time trying not to cry. Not very successfully I might add...) I think she may be introducing JimJam on the film as she was brilliant!! Never have I been so proud of them. And Alex? Well, he made up for his inarticulate and emotional wife!!!

So we are now relaxing, with all of us under the same roof. Bliss.

14th Nov, 6.30. BBC Points West. It's a date. X
