A Favourite Walk
It was a beautiful morning so we set off across the fields, one planted with oil seed rape and the other still brown but tilled and headed to the top of the ridge and down to the next village.
We met a working cocker which looked like it was on a mission until it saw us, and ground to a halt. As soon as his mistress joined him he came over and made a fuss before dashing off up the track. A lovely breed of dog but so energetic.
A walk through the village and then up past the windmill onto the ridge again and then back through the fields. Fish and chips for lunch, so a light snack this evening.
The nasturtiums have been ditched and the fuchsias potted down for the winter. My greenhouse should be here in six weeks.
