Entry 44 - Family Tree

Have become interested in my family tree lately. Have run up against a wall though. Douglas Haig Gathercole is the furthest back I have gotten - My great uncle (Great grandma Evelyn Seward's brother). Born in Ulverston (Cumbria) in 1917, died in the war in 1944 with the Queen's own Cameron Highlander regiment of Scotland. Why he was fighting for a Scottish Regiment, or where his parents were from (his mum's maiden name was Bell) I don't know...
