Hue Imperial City
This morning we went to the Imperial City (or the Citadel) in Hue. Quite an interesting place. Largely derelict as it was bombed in the second world war and the Vietnam war although they are beginning to restore it. Its absolutely huge and its almost unimaginable how the emperor would have lived in those days not actually so long ago really (about 200 years).
After this, back to the hotel room, some more research and decision made ... next stop Nepal where we will get our Indian visas then over to India for the beginning of December hopefully. Flights booked from Ho Chi Minh to Katmandu on 11th November. Not ideal to have to travel to Ho Chi Minh again but we got cheap flights and it means we can see a few places down the coast in Vietnam we might otherwise not have visited as we've got 11 days to make our way there.
Hue was buzzing with Halloween action tonight. Loads of people dressed up, with painted faces and wishing us a happy halloween - for some reason we weren't expecting it here!
