Engine Driver's View
It's always a thrill to ride on the footplate of one of the Steam Railway's engines and today was no exception when I was invited to travel on board the railway's flagship engine Calborne.
Only on the footplate can you experience the power, vibration and noise as the great skill of the driver and fireman work together to guide the machine which seems to a living entity along the 5 miles of track.
In this shot the driver Tony lit by the glow from the firebox is guiding the train of Wizard Week passengers through Ashey Halt.
