Butterfly Amaryllis

Hippeastrum papilio is a flowering perennial herbaceous bulbous plant, in the Amaryllidaceae family, native to southern Brazil. Colours are variable from white to creamy-green, or dark apple-green with carmine, maroon or purple striations.

I took a walk to the Botanic Gardens this afternoon took many shots of beautiful flowers in the Green house. The roses need another week or two before they make a wonderful show. All the flowerbeds were bare and waiting for new flowers to go in soon.

There were many people walking around and enjoying the wonderful warm afternoon. I could see that they have started work on the new building for the hospital.
